Finding what you love

“No one can find his work, what he really wants to put all of himself into, when everything he does he is made to do by others. This kind of searching must be done freely or not at all.”
— John Holt

My question – how do we find the time to search for what we truly love to do? So many things to do, so little time!!

Smiling makes the world go round

“Learn to smile at every situation. See it as an opportunity to prove your strength and ability”
Joe Brown
We all need goals in life. Sometimes just getting through the day is the biggest challenge you can muster. And doing it with a smile seems like a significant triumph. Proving to yourself that you can get through something when you don’t feel up to it is more important than proving anything to anyone else.

Thank you universe: Be what you want to be!

“The greatest discovery of my generation is that man can alter his life simply by altering his attitude of mind.”
— William James

Wow, this statement totally floored me today. The past few months I’ve been in a fairly negative mindset, and have been having a hard time pulling myself out of that mindset. This just totally takes the cake. Yesterday I was thinking about how the universe brings you the things you need when you need them, and how amazing that is. I was talking with a friend about how every time you walk into a new situation without knowing someone (which scares me more than I can tell you), you get a chance to reinvent yourself and be a person, or a side of your personality, that you want to express, but don’t normally express. And this statement, that you can change your life by changing your attitude…. Is exactly what I needed to hear right now. To help me become the person that I dream of becoming.
Thank you universe for sending this!

Past, Future, Present

“There is no future in the past, so make the future and live the present.”
— unknown

It’s so easy to reminisce and romanticize the past. To think “oh, things were so great then. Why can’t it be like that now?”
The past is behind you, it’s a memory now. You take the good parts of the past and keep them, remember and use them for the future.
But also you must remember the negative things from the past. Learn from previous mistakes and not let those mistakes define your future.
Make your own future with all the benefits of the good and bad of the past.

Trusting the Universe

Sometimes you have to trust that the universe will send you exactly what you need at precisely the time you need it.  When you’re ready for it. You just have to trust that you are where you need to be at this moment in time.  You have to believe that the universe will bring the thing, person, opportunity, whatever that you need into your life when you need it most.  When you will be open for it.

The last several months have had a lot of turmoil in my life.  And I feel like I’m finally starting to …. come out of it I guess.  Not feeling quite so broken.  (Thanks to my friends and family that have put up with me.)

I don’t know exactly what I need, but right now, at this moment in time…. I feel like I’m open and able to see what the universe is offering.  Even though its not telling me something I want to hear… Sometimes you have to suffer through the crap to grow.

Send me something good universe.
