Thrill of the Chase

Sometimes I wonder if I only want something because I can’t have it.

I’ll chase the beautiful dream. And then once getting it, I slowly (ever so slowly it seems sometimes) I realize that what I thought I was getting is not what I truly got.  What I thought I was chasing, in reality is not what I was chasing at all. I only see what I wanted to see.

And then the chase ended, and when the spoils were had, they were only fools gold.

I guess just further proof that I need to look more closely at what I want and what I’m looking for so as not to be fooled.
